New York based guitarist Nelson Riveros is part of an emerging force of a new generation, of Contemporary Latin-Jazz artists. His Latin-Jazz debut CD titled 'Camino Al Barrio' peaked at #8 on the Jazz Week World Music Chart. He was nominated among his peers as 'Next Best Generation Artist' and Best Latin Jazz Guitar' for the 2010 Latin Jazz Corner Best of The Year Awards.

New York based guitarist Nelson Riveros' CD debut recording titled 'Camino Al Barrio' peaked at #8 on the Jazz Week World Music Chart. He was nominated among his peers as 'Next Best Generation Artist' and Best Latin Jazz Guitar' for the 2011 Latin Jazz Corner Best of The Year Awards.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from City College where he studied guitar with Gene Bertoncini, Pete McCann and composition with Mike Holober. Nelson also studied music at Mannes College of Music where he studied guitar with Vic Juris.

Nelson has performed and recorded with Grammy nominated pianist Hector Martignon, Grammy-winning bassist John Benitez, Samuel Torres, Luis Bonilla, Alfredo De La Fe, Jeremy Wall of Spyro Gyra, Nicky Marrero. In 2014 he performed for the CD release concert of MISTS: Charles Ives for Jazz Orchestra, arranged and conducted by Dr. Jack T. Copper, featuring Luis Bonilla, Billy Drewes, John Mosca, Scott Wentholt, Jim Seeley,Ivan Renta, Vince Cherico and many others. Nelson an active teacher has been on the guitar faculty at the 92nd Street Y School of Music since 2005.

Nelson and his group have performed at the Iridium, Zinc Bar, Sunset Jazz @Lynhurst Castle, Long Island Winter Jazz on the Vine, Edgewater Music and Arts Festival, Celebrate Summer in Midtown Music Series, VanDyke Cafe in Miami, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bar Next Door. In 2014 he performed a tour of Colombia. Nelson appeared on Univision's ACA ENTRE NOS music segment, talking about his music and influences.
